2005 Aveda Awards Fredric's Corporation the "Care
Recognition" award for best
Earth Month contribution $104,000 dontated!
2005
- Aveda Fredric's
Corporation ended distribution with Aveda Lifestyle Products.
2001 -
The Brown House Cafe, Organic Teas and Eats opens in January
to the staff and students at Fredric’s Corporation
and then to the public in March. Due to the widening of
Muhlhauser Rd., the Brown House Cafe closed its doors November
1, 2002.
2001 -
The Plant, A Gathering
Scenter opens as a 2000
sq. ft. organic greenhouse
and event space. Originally
catered by the Brown House
Cafe.
2001 -
The 10th Aveda Environmental
Lifestyle Store opens
in Columbus, OH at
the Fashion District
at Easton.
2002 -
The Aveda Fredric’s
Institute expands.
In May of 2002,
A 2,500 sq.
ft. addition
of the Institute
is completed.
The expansion
includes
an addition
of
a Color room,
classroom,
expanded Esthiology
department,
makeup
area, 2 restrooms
and an office
giving the
Institute a
total of 6,500
square feet
of
retail, class
room and clinic
floor space.
2002 -
Aveda Fredric’s
Corporation built
and dedicated
its first Habitat
for Humanity home
in Hyde Park,
Ohio with the
help of Aveda/Fredric’s
Staff, Aveda/Fredric’s
Institute
staff
and students,
family, volunteers
and salon
spa
volunteers.
2002 -
Puregiving.com™ moves
forward to
include items
that enhance
the Aveda
product
line and
partners
with artist
Edward Casagrande
to
develop a
line of sculptures
for home,
spa
and entertainment
all to enhance
lifestyle.

Aveda Fredric’s
Corporation grows
its environmental
commitment by
adding 3 hybrid
automobiles to
its corporate
fleet and purchasing
a cardboard crusher
to enhance cardboard
recycling efforts.
In addition,
Fredric’s
Corporation is
added to the
finalist list
for Fast Company
Magazine’s “Fast
50,” in
recognition
of their
environmental
commitment
and
receives
honorable
mention.
2002 -
Project Daymaker
touches a
record number
of people
and travels
to Miami
and
Minneapolis
to be a part
of
The Salon
Association’s
Community
Outreach
program
and Aveda
Congress
Festival
respectively.
2003 -
Aveda Corporation
purchases
the 10 Experience
Centers in
Fredric’s
Corporation
Network
providing
additional
consistency
of the Aveda
brand representation
nationwide.

Project
Daymaker
embarks
nationwide
with book
signing
tour of “Life
as a Daymaker” by
David
Wagner.

licensed
volunteers,
it will
touch
people
in Chicago,

Los Angeles,

Alto

Francisco.

The Holzberger
Family
is named
a finalist
in the
fourth
annual
Goering
Center
for Family & Private
Business,
Family
Business
of the
Year
award
in the
Community
Service
category. The
Community service
award recognizes
the family business
that exemplifies
the meaning of
commitment to
the community
in ways that enhance
the quality of
life for all who
live in the Tri-State
area.
2004 -

Corporation
is chosen
as
one of
five finalists
for Distributor
of the Year
by TSA,
(The salon
Association)
2004 -
The Holzberger family is awarded The University of Cincinnati
GoeringCenter for Family and Private Business, Family Business
of the year in the Community Service Category.
2004
- The Institute was a Cincinnati Better Business Bureau
Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics finalist in October of 2001,
2002 and has again in 2004 .This award is given in recognition
of a business's outstanding commitment to ethical standards
in their relationship to their customers, employees, suppliers,
competitors and surrounding community.
2005 -
Frederic Holzberger is named a finalist for the Cincinnati Health
Care Heroes Award. Winners are to be announced Symposium in January.
2005 - Project Daymaker starts it's 10th year of service to those
in need.
2005 -
Fredric's Corporation celebrates 20 years of service to the Salon
and Spa industry.
2005 -
Aveda Fredric's Corporation was awarded as a finilist for the
Health Care hero's award under the employer catagory
2005 -
Marks the 2nd opening of Aveda Fredric's Institute in Indianapolis,
Indiana.
1990-2000
1992 -
Aveda Corp. grants exclusive distribution rights in the states
of Michigan & Kentucky.
1994 - Earth & Humanity
Foundation is formed and
thus begins a legacy of giving
back to the community and
those in need. In addition,
Fredric’s opens its
first Aveda Environmental
Lifestyle Store in the Kenwood
Towne Centre in Cincinnati.
This was one of the first
stores of its kind in the
United States. Much more
than a traditional beauty
boutique, the focus of the
stores is to showcase the
entire Aveda brand featuring
over 1200 products. “Aveda
is a lifestyle product and
service company committed
to supporting two ecosystems;
the planet and the human
body. Each thrives on harmony
and balance and are vitally
interconnected,” says
Horst Rechelbacher, founder
of Aveda.
1995 -
Holzberger launches Project
Daymaker, a 34-foot Winnebago
that has been outfitted
as a salon with three stylist
stations, a shampoo bowl,
stress relieving massage
station and reception area.
Daymaker provides services
to people who could not
otherwise afford to have
a professional haircut.
Staffed by licensed salon
stylists who volunteer
their time to help those
in need, since its inception,
Project Daymaker has traveled
over 100,000 miles within
the four states of Ohio,
Indiana, Kentucky and Michigan
and with the aid of over
800 volunteers has touched
more than 9,500 less fortunate
people.
1995 - Second
Aveda Environmental Lifestyle Store
opens in Indianapolis at the Fashion
Mall at Keystone at the Crossing.
1995 - The
Family Nurturing center is
born! The on-site State of
Ohio licensed day care facility
employs four certified teachers
with bachelor degrees in
Education. The objective
of the Center is to offer
fun and educational child
care for children from birth
to 6 years old, that nurtures
them throughout their social,
emotional, physical and cognitive
developmental process. Meals
and snacks are provided daily
through the Brown House Cafe. Due
to the widening of Muhlhauser
Rd, the Nurturing Center
closed its doors March of
2002.
1996 - Third
and fourth Aveda stores open
in Troy, Michigan at the
Somerset Collection North
and Strongsville, Ohio at
SouthPark Center.
1997 - Fifth,
sixth and seventh Aveda Stores
open in Dublin, OH at Tuttle
Crossing, Beachwood, OH at
Beachwood Place and Troy,
MI at the Somerset Collection
South.
1998 - Aveda
Stores numbers eight and
nine, open in Lexington,
KY at Fayette Mall and Louisville,
KY at Mall St. Matthews.
1999 - The
Aveda Fredric’s Institute
opens its doors. A private,
licensed school of cosmetology,
esthiology and nail esthetics
and retail center, the school
provides the salon network
with an opportunity to hire
individuals educated in all
aspects of salon operations.
Students work together to
produce hair and fashion
shows to raise money for
charities and research organizations
such as Breast Cancer Research. “The
Institute is part of the ‘ecosystem’ by
helping put salons on the
path of success,” says
Holzberger. The school has
received “Awards of
Excellence” from the
State of Ohio and is recognized
by Cincinnati Magazine as
one of the “Best of
the City.”
1999 - Puregiving.com™ is
established as a source for
salon gifting tools.
1980-1990
1983 -
Fredric’s
Corporation distributes tanning and fitness equipment.
1985 -
Aveda Corporation grants
Fredric’s
exclusive distribution rights
in the state of Ohio for
their line of Environmental
Beauty
Products.
Frederic Holzberger believes
in the strength of a single
line focus and
ceases distribution of tanning
and fitness equipment.
1988 -
Aveda Corp. grants Fredric’s
Corporation exclusive distribution
rights in the state of Indiana.
